Crawly I 03:57
Beautiful night there, nightmare week though There was a tightrope tied over a deep hole Dutifully moving in time, suited me fine Same as the breeze blows Same as the tune in my mind Same as the trees, swaying beneath us Take that to the window as I break glass You can really get it wind-blown when the freights pass I can really get my head going around the race track Eighth lap and the brakes snap And it takes that just to face facts Say a good grace for a great catch Get a bookcase and a hat rack
2.
Crawly II 02:19
I don't bother with the rain check in the thunder or sleet You gotta know that when it snows I tunnel under your feet The path is riddled with the rubble its from hitting the wall So even if I have to get down on my belly and crawl You can't calm me You can't talk me down I'm crawly It's why I'm tearing at my hair as I look up at the bluff All of this suffering to duck around obstructions for what? All the stuff we chewed up like a pack of ravenous mutts I've got enough to blow the moon up in the back of the truck
3.
Shepherd 02:24 video
Shepherd of the sick sheep Who lead me up to teeter on the cliff's peak Totter with the thick deep water underneath As if there peril were a gift I should be honoured to receive I'm terrified to say that there were times when I believed All the times I caught them by the fleece Just to lead them back to slaughter should have tossed them in the sea Let them wash up on the beach Wander off amongst the trees And never told the farmer what I'd seen Herder of the lost flock Curdling on the surface of the stock pot Perched up on the stove top cooking And I'm hurling through the rocks until my yearning or the clock stops working Because the path's not crooked but it certainly is steep The bitter pitter-patter of the sleet And the scattered inner-chatter when the passages were bleak And it passes at a creep like molasses at my feet And I mark it by the gnashing of my teeth
4.
Tabletop 02:41 video
A couple plates and a pair of cups, barely touched My finger tips and paisley cloth on the tabletop I face the face of the ticking clock in the arid dusk They took the pages and teared it up, fair enough If the cracks don't move Then the leaks won't too It's a thatched hut roof And the moon peeks through I chip the paint with my fingernail off the chair I'm in I face the ticking face of the clock in the tearing wind A couple plates and a pair of cups, barely touched They took the pages and teared it up, fair enough If the cracks don't move Then the leaks won't too It's a thatched hut roof And the moon peeks through But the cracks just grew And the creaks aren't new And if that's all true Then a latch won't do
5.
Flood 02:57
Standing the in the ripples and waves Coming up out of the drain Watch everything around you change I won't float, baby don't make me beg I just look heavy Levy only ever could break Trouble is with wishing for rain All the things around you change I get jokes so no need to explain Flood Wading through the ripples and waving Rising up the side of the bank Watch everything around you change I won't float, baby don't make me beg The things around you change Flood
6.
All I could muster was a serpentine, nervous smile All of my burdens submarine under a certain isle I made a homey little hole in the ground I thank the whole thing for holding me down I’m in the ocean where the most of them drown Right off the coast the people poke and peek out It’s not a ghost that’s got a hold of me now None of these boats could hope to throw me around Find me neither east nor west I hauled it all up from the sea and wrote it right to left Only the fools know what it means to need it from the net I’m almost certain that the curtain was a sheet at best Not even sea urchins could needle me now I’m in the breeze with all the trees in the ground I tied the tight-rope even tauter around Not even hurricanes could teeter me down
7.
Handbrake 03:44
Less than next to nothing in the ride Aside from the fact that Time waits for nobody so doesn't dying And I wait for nobody time after time Greasy like Esau and sleep in the slime Slide to the wayside and blind-eye the signs Time takes a toll until the bell chime is mine All hail the tall tales and lies that I told All hail and ice as I fly down the road And my tires lose control And I won't make the turn All smiles from me though I dreamed of the curve The dip of the landscape The click of the handbrake The hiccuping man shaped The wicked and bland way I staved off the traitors The minute-hand sand snakes The ache that I felt when I realized the crown's fake Great gates of Hell there's a reason my hands shake And hand shakes the tail

Gutter-bound Boarded up rather shuttered down Putter 'round, putter 'round Town to town to hound the heathens Town to town Boarded up Not for nothing rather nothing but Throw around both hands at once Pound for pound until we're even then Feeling rough Lock it down rather seal it up Make a meal or a scene for what?
10.
Trees 03:14
You throw the can over the edge and look down Down as the wind sort of shoves it around It sounds like a sin because she loves you for now But you're down like the trees by the road out of town Give up the ghost Hit up the coast Kick through the driftwood and stones Pick up the phone if you feel like it Mostly you don't Most of these rocks on the beach won't get close to this cold Ode to your shook drowsy soul You look one thousand years old You catch the bottle to your lips and look up Up to no good until you're real good and stuck Never been kind to not one body once Good grief go get it Or let it be done Give up the ghost Hit up coast Kick through the driftwood and stones Pick up the phone when you feel like it But mostly you don't Most of these rocks on the beach won't get close to this cold Ode to your shook drowsy soul You look one thousand years old
